If you are interested in refinancing and currently make your mortgage payments to DCU, you may be eligible for the federal “Making Homes Affordable” Relief Refinance Program. Visit the following link for initial eligibility guidelines to see if you may be eligible for this program: http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov. In order to be eligible, your mortgage must have been sold to Freddie Mac (click on the following link to see if your loan was sold to Freddie Mac: https://ww3.freddiemac.com/corporate/index.html). If your current mortgage was sold to Freddie Mac and you make on-time mortgage payments to DCU, you can apply online, by phone (800) 328-8797, or by visiting one of our branches. To apply online, pick one of our Making Homes Affordable Relief Programs from the list of available products. You must pick the same original term as your current mortgage or a shorter term (you cannot lengthen the original term). After you apply, a DCU representative will call you to discuss your application. If you apply by phone or in one our branches, say you are interested in the Making Homes Affordable Refinance Program. |
